“hi Allegra! I'm embarking on my own Aria cosplay journey, for reasons I can't fathom, and I'm having trouble deconstructing her costume, so I just wondered if you could maybe shed some insight on her black leotard armour bodysuit leggings combo. Is it a bodysuit with bits chopped out? Is it just legs with separate bustier leotard? In which case, how does it stay up? I think you did the former in your costume, but I just thought I'd ask in case. Sorry to be a bother!”
Not a bother at all, thank you for asking!
Aria’s outfit is all kinds of weirdness held together by … biotics, I don’t even know. TBH, her Omega outfit clarifies a lot of grey areas, and I wish I’d seen it when I was making Aria!
My Aria is made predominantly of an altered black unitard, where I cut and restitched a deep V for the neckline, added the vinyl extension with straps to hold it together (and not completely spill out), added sleeves, and cut and restitched those side cutouts. The leg pieces are basically chaps (of a sort?) that I made of vinyl and attached to the unitard with snaps (about 5 on each side).
NOW, if you want to know how I would have made it now? Start by looking at Emmabellish’s Aria because she did a PHENOMENAL job. Aria’s neckline is definitely a little more shaped and defined than I was able to manage with just a unitard, which Emma achieved. From the looks of things, she built an additional structured leotard (but just the front!) over the unitard—I’m not sure what material she made it out of, but it definitely makes the costume look more armored, which is perfect for ME3 Aria. I definitely recommend asking her about that part! She’s super nice :D
So yes, I recommend: black unitard (either altered or made from scratch if you dare) with a leotard-type front made per Emma’s advice (since hers is A+) and separate chaps that you can temporarily or permanently attach depending on the fabric used for the base unitard (Emma’s looks like it could be permanently attached? Her fabric doesn’t look quite as stretchy as mine. I definitely recommend snap attachments if you use super stretchy athletic spandex, but mind the stitches on the spandex side when you remove the chaps!)
I hope this helps!!!! :D

if only blade couldn’t be construed as a double entendre, because then I would be all over:
"Altaïr, it seems my students do not fully understand what it is to wield the blade. Perhaps you can show them what you know?"

“KHII.5 Remix: Awesome, or the most awesomest?”
I’ve been way too busy today to bounce up and down about it (Monday’s usually my heavy work day, PLUS they reshuffled our teams so I suddenly went from actively managing 10 people to 24 now—I’m cry but I love my job so it’s great), but I let out the HIGHEST PITCHED SQUEAL when Kelsey tweeted at me to tell me the good news
We already preordered it on Amazon ok I just I just *FLAILS*
